Walmart, grants, and bus shelters

Non-profits rely on donations, gifts, and grants, to facilitate changes in communities. City Fields is no exception. We are always looking for new ways to provide funding for projects in Blythe Oldfield. Recently we applied for and received a $500 grant from Walmart!

The completed bus stop.

Walmart is a proud collaborator with organizations to help create opportunities for communities to be sustainable and thriving. We could not be more grateful for their support. City Fields staff was able to meet with the assistant manager at our local Walmart, thank him personally, and explain what the funding provided.

The grant was used to supply materials for a bus shelter in Blythe Oldfield. This protects residents both old and young from the elements and allows them a place to rest while they wait for transportation. Materials used include wood stakes, wood planks, and plexiglass.

Building the shelter.

Employees from Cleveland Utilities helped build and complete the bus shelter on United Way’s Day of Action (July 19, 2019). Along with funding, volunteers are essential for us to complete projects and goals.

Thank you once again to Walmart for providing funding and the volunteers for donating your time! Community collaboration like this is what cultivates effective change!
